Support Pikes Peak Outdoors & Earn a Colorado State Income Tax Credit
Pikes Peak Outdoors (Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance) is an approved Enterprise Zone Contribution Project in the Pikes Peak Enterprise Zone (El Paso County).
When you make a qualifying contribution, you may be eligible for a valuable Colorado state income tax credit:
- 25% of cash donations
- 12.5% of in-kind donations
Example: A $1,000 cash donation could generate a $250 Colorado state income tax credit (in addition to any federal charitable deduction you may qualify for).
Key Details
- Available to any Colorado taxpayer (you do not need to live or work in the Enterprise Zone).
- Maximum credit: $100,000 per taxpayer per tax year.
- Unused credits may be carried forward for up to five years.
- Minimum contribution thresholds may apply depending on the project (commonly $250+ for full eligibility in many local projects).
How It Works
- Make your donation to Pikes Peak Outdoors and provide your Colorado Account Number or the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
- We submit the contribution for certification through the local Enterprise Zone administrator.
- You receive an official tax credit certificate.
- Claim the credit on your Colorado income tax return using the certificate and Form DR 1366.
This credit helps stretch your support further while advancing outdoor recreation, trail access, conservation, and economic vitality in the Pikes Peak region.
