FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance is now Pikes Peak Outdoors
Colorado Springs, CO – June 9, 2026
The Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance (PPORA) announced today that they are simplifying their name and unifying their brands under “Pikes Peak Outdoors.” Pikes Peak Outdoors is the name and logo they have used for years under pikespeakoutdoors.org, the outdoor community hub website they created and have successfully managed for years.
This strategic unification streamlines operations, eliminates brand confusion, and amplifies the collective voice for the outdoors across the Pikes Peak region.
A Unified Voice for the Outdoors
For years, PPORA (ppora.org) has served as the leading collaborative voice strengthening the outdoor recreation industry for the Pikes Peak region through leadership, partnership, and advocacy. The Outdoor Pikes Peak Initiative (OPPI) has advanced critical regional planning to protect and enhance the area’s iconic landscapes and recreation opportunities, culminating in a vision plan that has moved into implementation. Going forward, OPPI and its associated logo will refer to this planning stage and Vision Plan.
As the designated Colorado Outdoor Regional Partner for El Paso, Teller, and Fremont counties, Pikes Peak Outdoors plays a vital role in the statewide Colorado Outdoor Regional Partnerships Initiative — a collaborative effort led by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) and Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO). This initiative supports regionally driven coalitions working to advance conservation, sustainable recreation, equitable access to the outdoors, and implementation of Colorado’s Outdoors Strategy.
Recognizing the strong foundation already built with Pikes Peak Outdoors, the organization is now directing all branding, digital presence, and public-facing efforts to pikespeakoutdoors.org. This site will serve as a central hub for residents, visitors, businesses, land managers, grant writers, and municipalities seeking resources and connection to their regional partnership, outdoor adventures in the Pikes Peak region, and the many outdoor entities who are so vital in ensuring sustainable, enjoyable experiences continue for our community’s health and wellbeing and economic vitality.
Key benefits of the brand merger include:
- Amplified Impact: Creating a stronger, more visible platform to promote outdoor recreation, support local businesses, advocate for stewardship of public lands, and advance regional priorities as the region’s official Colorado Outdoor Regional Partnership.
- Improved Operations: Streamlining resources, reducing duplication, and allowing the organization to focus more energy on mission-critical work, including regional planning, grant implementation, and community collaboration.
- Eliminating Confusion: Consolidating multiple websites and initiatives under one clear, memorable brand.
“PikesPeakOutdoors.org has grown into a trusted hub for outdoor recreation, information, and connection throughout our region,” said Becky Leinweber, Executive Director. “By unifying our programs, partnerships, and communications under the Pikes Peak Outdoors name, we are creating greater clarity, visibility, and impact for the communities we serve. As the Colorado Outdoor Regional Partner for El Paso, Teller, and Fremont counties, this unified identity helps us better connect people to places, support outdoor businesses and communities, and advance responsible recreation and conservation across the Pikes Peak region.”
The transition will be seamless for users. Existing content and resources from ppora.org will be integrated into the unified platform, with clear redirects in place.
