Outdoor Events

This is the ninth of 17 events around the United States. Hosted by five Colorado walking clubs, there will be a mix of self-guided and group walks, as well as socials. 5K and 10K walks include Black Forest Regional Park, Paint Mines, Garden of the Gods, Stratton Open Space, City of Gold Mines in Victor, and Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge.

All ages and abilities can participate.  We welcome the community to join us each day, for a fee of $4 for each walk (one time $6 registration fee). More information is available here.

Experience the Park’s natural beauty and unique features by joining this expanded guided nature walk. Participants will enjoy an introduction along Gateway Trail to the Central Garden’s most remarkable sights. The walk will cover about one mile over smooth, paved trails and will typically last around 90 minutes. Upon arrival at the Central Garden, participants may continue with the guide for further exploration, or continue to explore independently. Those who prefer can also return to the Visitor Center with the guide. Weather dependent.

The OutLoud Colorado Springs Men's Chorus will present an upbeat and dynamic concert featuring songs from their recent concert, "The House We Built" as well as music in celebration of our state and nation's milestone birthdays. Favorites include selections from Kpop Demon Hunters, Whitney Houston, and the musical Wicked. it's an event not to be missed.

Bring you lawn chair and friends to enjoy these free concerts. Picnics encouraged. Donations accepted. In bad weather, concerts held inside.

Celebrating Colorado’s Birthday: this year’s event lands right alongside Colorado’s birthday, and we’re going all in. Expect a bigger crowd, more energy, and a full-on street party atmosphere right in the heart of Cripple Creek.

Full Street Take Over: We’ll be set up on Bennett Ave, surrounded by: Casinos Hotels within walking distance. Easy access to camping. During the event, open container is allowed on the street, so you can grab a drink and walk the strip while taking in the cars, music, and madness.

Food, Music & More: This isn’t just a car event — it’s a full weekend experience: Food trucks serving all weekend. Live music on Saturday. Activities for kids and families. Vendors, games, and plenty to explore Whether you’re racing, showing, or just spectating, there’s something for everyone.

The Rambler Spirit at its core, the Rambler is about: budget builds, creativity community, and not taking things too seriously. The cheaper, the better. The weirder, the better. The more stories you leave with, the better.

We’re also kicking things off right each morning with pancake breakfasts on both Saturday and Sunday — because no Rambler weekend starts without it.

Do you like to hike and want to make new friends? The Summer Hiking Series is designed for people who like to hike but prefer not to hike alone, visitors who want a longer hike but do not want to have to figure out a longer route, and anyone who wants to quietly explore the park on foot with a small group and a park interpreter. Hikes are moderate with some elevation gain on dirt trails and over rocky terrain. There will be a different hike each week and the start of each weekly hike will be at a different trailhead. For details on the hike of the week, please read the description on the Garden of the Gods website. Please be ready to hike between 2 and 3 hours with few stops. Hikers are expected to be prepared with hiking essentials and a fitness level to ensure safety at altitude.

Bring your “nature eyes” and explore Garden of the Gods! Join Park Guide and Junior Ranger co-author Jennifer for this family and stroller friendly walk. Families will leisurely walk into the Park from the Visitor and Nature Center, playing ‘I spy’ or Nature Bingo. Sticker packet included!

Sunscreen, sturdy shoes and water recommended. If there is inclement weather, the program will move indoors.

Advance purchase is required. Each vehicle must have a timed-entry permit and Sunrise admission ticket purchased online before arrival. Tickets will not be sold at the Gateway, and access to the North Slope Recreation Area will not be available during event hours.

Prefer to leave the driving to us? Shuttle tickets are available! Shuttles depart from the North Pole parking lot, located 0.3 miles before the Pikes Peak entrance, and travel directly to the summit.

The Pikes Peak Gateway will open early for special sunrise events, so please take note of your arrival time when purchasing tickets.

Before you go, please prepare for the mountain drive and summit conditions:
• Avoid using air conditioning on the way up.
• Know how to downshift and use engine braking on the way down.
• Drink plenty of water before and during your visit.
• Bring warm layers. The summit is usually about 30 degrees colder than in town and can be especially cold before sunrise.

The Summit Visitor Center café and gift shop will be open for food and souvenirs.

Experience the therapeutic power of the bow at the Valor Archery x B4 Outdoors Fundraiser on August 1st, 2026. Hosted at the Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex, this event brings together the military community and outdoor enthusiasts for a day of precision, camaraderie, and purpose.

Valor Archery Challenge has partnered with B4 Outdoors (501c3) to raise critical funds for veteran rehabilitation through outdoor adventures. Participants will navigate a professional-grade 3D archery course designed to test everyone from youth shooters to seasoned bowhunters. Beyond the range, the event serves as a "Mission Reset," connecting service members with local resources and a supportive community that understands the transition from the battlefield to the back country.

Whether you're coming to dial in your setup for hunting season or to find your "stillness" on the range, your participation makes a direct impact. Rental gear is available on-site for new archers, and plenty of raffle prizes are up for grabs.

On this day celebrating Colorado's 150th anniversary, let America's mountain set the stage for wine tasting, live music, and an unforgettable afternoon. Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain is attempting a world record on August 1 to celebrate 150 years of Colorado!

Join us on the summit at 11 am as we try to gather as many people as possible to dunk our world-famous donuts into coffee at the same time. If successful, we will become the official record holders for the most donuts dunked into coffee simultaneously!

To participate, reserve your timed-entry permit or shuttle ticket in advance for August 1. Please remember that it takes about an hour to reach the summit from the Gateway, so plan your timed-entry or shuttle ticket accordingly.

Participation in the record attempt is free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. We ask that all guests be respectful and patient as staff help coordinate the attempt.

After the record attempt, stick around on the summit to meet Ranger Donut and visit with our friends from the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon, Cycle to the Summit, and more.

Experience sunset from the summit of Pikes Peak — America’s Mountain on Colorado's 150 anniversary of statehood!

The Gateway to the Pikes Peak Highway will reopen at 6:45 pm, giving guests the opportunity to drive their personal vehicle to the summit or ride a shuttle to the top of Pikes Peak.
Sunset is expected at 8:10 pm, offering a rare chance to take in the evening views from 14,115 feet.

Important details: Advance purchase is required for timed entry permits and sunset admission, OR shuttle tickets. Same-day admission will not be available. Availability is limited.

Guests must begin descending from the summit no later than 8:50 pm.

This is a guided walk along Gateway Trail focused on the plants, trees and wildflowers found in the Garden of the Gods. Join us to learn about native plants, invasive species, and the relationships between plants, wildlife and humans. Distance is about 1 mile along mostly paved trails. Please note that this is a one-way hike into the Park; participants are encouraged to continue exploring the Central Garden or may return to the Visitor Center with the guide. Weather dependent.

Sanctioned by USA Cycling, this competitive hill climb features age-group categories, an e-bike category, and the Midway Challenge, giving cyclists of all skill levels the opportunity to take on this iconic 14er. While the event is professionally timed and features age-group competition, every rider can climb at their own pace — whether chasing a top finish in their category or crossing the Summit off their bucket list.
