The Ute Pass is a mountain pass west of Colorado Springs. U.S. Highway 24 cuts through the Ute Pass

The Ute Pass Trail runs along the north side of Pikes Peak. It was believed to have first been a buffalo trail then beginning in the 1860’s the Ute Pass Trail became a wagon road. The Ute Indians also used the trail to travel through the Ute Pass.

You can now travel along this historic trail by hiking, biking, running or horseback riding. The trailhead is located near the Pikes Peak Cog Railway parking lot.
