Crystal Creek Reservoir
Crystal Creek Reservoir is located on Pikes Peak and is a great place to take kids fishing. It is one of three that are part of the North Slope Recreation Area located northeast of Colorado Springs. Owned and managed by the City of Colorado Springs, these scenic water supply reservoirs and the surrounding area offer numerous recreational opportunities including hiking, picnicking, non-motorized boating, and fishing. With 103 parking spaces, there is ample space for all visitors. Due to the sensitive nature of the surrounding area, people are asked to confine picnics to the developed sites. There is a small bait and tackle/gift shop at the beginning of the trail head. The trails are gravel and some of the hills and slopes around the lake can be hazardous, so watch where you step. Crystal Creek can be accessed from all sides for fishing or hiking except from the dam.
Crystal Creek Reservoir offers easy access to rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout for the young or experienced angler. For anglers that are willing to go out in a boat, the occasional lake and brown trout can be caught.
