Encountering Wildlife

The Pikes Peak region has an abundance of wildlife! As you explore the outdoors, be on the lookout for the wild natives that you may encounter. Colorado Parks and Wildlife has provided the guide below to help you and the kids learn about the wildlife in the region and be able to identify them on sight or by viewing their tracks.

As a reminder, please do not feed or interact with wildlife. Give them their space, take your photo from a safe distance, and teach your kids to do the same. Keep dogs on leashes so they they don’t disturb wildlife, as well.
